(This is the email format sent directly to city council members each week from Rae)
Hello BRANDON AND ALL COUNCIL MEMBERS
Since you will be voting on several matters of concern below is my opinion and questions about some matters before you tomorrow night.
I would appreciate some responses to my questions.
I spend a few hours on this each meeting I would appreciate a response to my questions.
I and many others will be WATCHING you all on TV!
Rule 9.3 And Amendment to Rules of Procedure, Rule 9.3 I SUPPORT THE AMENDMENT
BL2025-820 I SUPPORT! DEVELOPMENT CAN IMPACT PEOPLE IN 1000 FT OF THE DEVELOPMENT. An ordinance amending Chapter 17.40 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to require mailed notices for certain final site plans (Proposal No.2025Z-003TX-001).
RS2025-1100 I SUPPORT! I hope this means we will be evaluating the success and or failure of “NON-PROFITS” which receive TAXPYER MONEY! A resolution requesting Mayor Freddie O’Connell create an advisory working group to explore and determine a coordinating model that supports a long-term sustainable Youth Policy and Strategic Plan and analysis of data that extends beyond mayoral administrations.
RS2025-1333 I SUPPORT! A resolution approving a subrecipient agreement by and between the Metropolitan Development and Housing Agency (MDHA) and the Metropolitan Government, acting by and through the Metropolitan Office of Homeless Services, for one-time payments of first month’s rent and security/utility deposits on behalf of homeless persons obtaining housing through various campaigns.
RS2025-1338 So if I am reading this analysis correctly NDOT doesn’t have crews to sweep and clean streets, roadways, and parking lots at a cost to TAXPAYERS of $1million. I understand that because of the cooperative agreement we are “saving” $45K a year but why don’t we have enough employees on staff to do this JOB????? I thought NDOT took over “Public Works”. A resolution accepting the terms of a cooperative purchasing master agreement for facilities maintenance and sweeping services for the Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure.
BL2025-846 I have questions about this, does this act the same as the Downtown TOURIST Zone? Does this also act the same as the agreement with the Music City Center? To the point do all the sales taxes collected in these zones then stay in these zones and are not shared by the rest of the TAXPAYERS in Davidson County?????? An ordinance amending Title 2 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws authorizing the creation of a Downtown Central Business Improvement District and appointing a corporation to act as an advisory board to the district with the necessary powers and authority to carry out the purposes and intent of the district.
BL2025-898 I OPPOSE! I DO NOT AGREE THAT ONE STAIRCASE TO EXIT IN A FIRE IS SAFE! I WAS UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL DURING THE 9/11 ATTACKS ON THE WTC and with all the precautions at the time in the hi rise I was in it took us a full 45 minutes to walk down 27 stories. You are begging for a tragedy in this city and you all will be responsible. I will tell you things changed in the hi rises after that the FIRE DEPARTMENT MADE MANY CHANGES after that tragedy! An ordinance amending Title 16 of the Metropolitan Code of Laws to adopt updated building codes.
As always thanks for your time and attention.

About Rae:
Rae first realized the importance of the Metro City Council in 2017, when the development of a hotel in her neighborhood was proposed through BL2017-819.
After her Councilman failed to respond, she hired an attorney to challenge the development. Despite months of meetings and securing several concessions, a hotel was built instead of needed housing. This experience led to her involvement in other significant battles, including opposing the Nashville Fairgrounds redevelopment, fighting against Mayor Megan Barry's transit plan, and resisting the 38% tax increase.
Having moved to Nashville from New York in 2015, She became increasingly concerned with the direction of the city.
When the priorities of the Music City Convention Center and the Chamber of Commerce overshadow the needs of the citizens, it’s clear there’s a problem.
More recently, she's been advocating against the construction of the “new” Titan Stadium and the East Bank development.
